SOUTHDALE YMCA HOSTS 4th ANNUAL MUSIC FESTIVAL WITH A BENEFIT PERFORMANCE FEATURING AWARD-WINNING COUNTRY MUSIC STAR BRYAN WHITE AND RENOWNED MINNEAPOLIS BASED MUSICIAN ST. PAUL PETERSON. SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 2016
The Southdale YMCA in Edina, a leading nonprofit dedicated to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, will host its 4th Annual Music Festival to benefit youth leadership programs on Sunday, November 13, 2016.
The festival will be held at the Icehouse Minneapolis. Doors will open at 5:00 p.m. and music will start at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $45 per person, and proceeds from this special performance will support the largest YMCA in the Twin Cities so that those in need will have access to quality Y programs and services.
“I’m extremely happy to come back to Minnesota, and I am so glad to be helping out such a worthy cause like the Southdale YMCA and the programs it brings to the community,” said Bryan White, who experienced life-changing success as a country music superstar in the 1990s and is now enjoying international acclaim for his song God Gave Me You, originally released in 1999. His list of honors include; recognition from the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music, five CMT Awards, Canadian Country Music Awards and TNN/Music City News Awards. In addition, his songwriting credits include cuts with Wynonna, LeAnn Rimes, Joe Diffie, Sawyer Brown and Diamond Rio.
Joining White will be renowned Minneapolis based musician St. Paul Peterson. Currently the bassist for Peter Frampton, Paul is the youngest of Minnesota’s First Family of Music, The Petersons. He was “discovered” by Prince in 1983, appeared in the movie Purple Rain with Morris Day and the Time, and has since recorded, toured, or penned music with international recording artists including Kenny Loggins, Donny Osmond, Prince, George Benson, Oleta Adams and The Corrs, just to name a few. His band, fDeluxe (formerly The Family) are the original recording artists of the Prince produced song Nothing Compares 2 U.
