Minnesota is primed for an infusion of bold color. Young painters can give spring a boost at this three-hour workshop, where they will draw inspiration from one of Van Gogh’s most vibrant and well-loved works, Tournesols. Children will learn about Van Gogh’s turbulent life and wide-reaching legacy and explore impasto and other oil painting techniques before creating their own post-impressionist masterpiece. All materials are provided. Participants should bring a nut-free snack and a drink. Registration closes March 9 and space is limited. Ages 4-9. 1-4 p.m. Edina Senior Center, 5280 Grandview Square; 952.833.9570; edinamn.gov.
