From glass to jewelry to sculpture to photography, there will be a wide variety of media on view this month at Centennial Lakes Park during the 10th annual Fall into the Arts festival.
Conceived by artist and past Edina Art Center instructor Karen Knutson, Fall into the Arts is one of the last festivals scheduled before the weather turns cold. Featuring almost 250 artists, food vendors and sponsors, Fall into the Arts draws thousands of visitors from throughout the metro area. All proceeds generated by artist and vendor fees are donated to the Crime Prevention Fund.
Michael Frey, Edina Art Center’s general manager, was named the festival’s new chair in February. Due to the shift in leadership, the festival’s board of directors doesn’t plan on making any changes to this year’s event, but according to Frey, they will be on the lookout for some fine art vendors and unusual artwork to throw into the mix for the coming years.
This year’s Fall into the Arts festival takes place September 6-7 at Centennial Lakes Park, 7499 France Ave. 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. Visit the Edina Art Center’s website for more information.
