Planning on buying flowers for mom this Mother’s Day? Why not take her to the Edina Garden Council’s Annual Mother’s Day Plant Sale and let her pick out her own gift? Not only will you be celebrating Mom, but proceeds from the event fund horticulture scholarships and the Edina Park Beautification Process. According to event chairwoman Karen Platt, garden council members volunteer year-round to get these plants, flowers, custom hanging baskets, and vegetables ready for the two-day event. “It’s a good variety,” she says. In its 41st year, the 2014 sale will be held May 9 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and May 10 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Arneson Acres Park in Edina.
