Book clubs, art programs and movies— The Edina Library and Southdale Library heat up in July with jam-packed activities for everyone. Children of all ages can find something to do, with book clubs for both girls and boys in grades 4-6, and story time for wee ones. Mix in games, music and entertaining shows, and you’ve got a new favorite place at the Edina libraries this summer. “I hope children will feel affirmed by the public library setting and think of it as a fun place they want to come to,” says librarian Maureen Millea Smith. Kids won’t be the only ones rushing to the library. Adults can enjoy a variety of computer courses covering programs such as Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word, in addition to presentations covering the basics of Medicare, as well as career advice sessions. The library also hosts a small-business roundtable discussion and many more informative programs. For more information about programs offered, visit hclib.org.
