Lace up your running shoes and hit the trail. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced runner, the Minnesota Distance Running Association encourages runners of all levels to join the running community and provides resources and training programs. Started in 1962, MDRA has 2,300 members. With headquarters at the Edina Community Center, MDRA has partnerships with certified and experienced coaches who teach injury prevention, nutrition and training methods.
“One mile or more is considered distance in our book,” says Heidi Miler, office manager for MDRA. Some MDRA members train for 5K races, others prepare for marathons like the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon in October. Interested runners should check out MDRA’s marathon training program beginning June 28. To learn more, visit runmdra.org.
