Golfers and enthusiasts have the opportunity to enjoy a great day on the greens with a chance at driving away in a 2014 BMW at the third annual Imara International Charity Golf Tournament. The tournament is held by Imara International, a non-profit organization working with Kenyan teenage moms to provide education and life skills along with early childhood education for their children, while enriching their lives for a better tomorrow.

In addition to BMW of Minnetonka, current golf hole sponsors include Volkart May, iBIT Integrated Business IT Consultants, LLC, Brock White, Midwest Immunology, Meagher & Geer, PLLP, and Coldwell Banker

This tournament is set apart from local tournaments as it benefits young moms and their children in Africa. Imara House, the location of the organization in Nanyuki, Kenya currently has 8 moms and 7 children that are benefitting from this organization and the work being done on site and back here in the United States. The Twin Cities-based board of directors works on various programs and events to help raise funds to benefit the actions taking place in Kenya. The driving force behind Imara is empowering these teenage Kenyan moms through education to build a self-sufficient future for themselves, their children and their community.

Registration begins at 11:30 a.m., with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. A dinner and awards program will follow the conclusion of tournament.  Additional contests taking place during the day will include Beat the Pro, Buy a Drive and the BMW of Minnetonka sponsored Hole-in-One contest.

Presently, sponsorships range from $10,000 for corporate or individual sponsors to $150 for golf participants.  Each sponsorship opportunity includes levels of recognition and involvement at the tournament.
