Edina Art Center’s juried art show draws hundreds of entries.

Each September, the Edina Art Center hosts a juried art show: its largest exhibition of the year. According to general manager Michael Frey, the juried art show is “where [Edina Art Center] members get to show off their finest work.”

Any member of the Edina Art Center can submit their drawings, pottery, photographs, paintings, and mixed-media pieces to be considered for inclusion in the annual show. According to Frey, the Art Center received 269 entries in 2013, and 131 were selected for display. Each year, two acclaimed members of the arts community are sought to judge the entries and hand out special awards.

Artist Maarja Roth was invited to jury the 2012 art show. “It’s always interesting to see the quality of the work,” says Roth. “The art center is a really strong art resource.”
