As a former test engineer at IBM, Jim Fenleson knows how to get to the root of a problem. In this case, 22 years after his retirement, the problem was his balance. After several falls, Fenleson was prompted to use his professional experience to discover what was causing his unsteadiness. He concluded poor vision and a lack of hydration were the culprits. York Gardens, where Fenleson lives, is affiliated with Centrex Rehab, a therapy company specializing in physical, occupational and speech therapy. Centrex Rehab professionals helped Fenleson work on his balance with classes such as t’ai chi. Fenleson warns others to not get complacent with their health. In his opinion, self-analyzing can be the key to improved wellness.
