Edina Girls' Hockey Team Wins State Tournament

Lolita Fidler celebrates her team’s 2017 State Championship win.
This past hockey season was a great one for the girls of Edina High School, with a win of the 2017 state tournament under coach Sami Reber. “It’s an incredible honor,” Reber says of being the first woman coach to win a Minnesota State High School League AA hockey title.
“I think it was a really cool experience,” says center Lolita Fidler. Fidler has been on the team for three years. She says playing under Reber is “awesome” and that it’s been “easy to connect with her.”
Fidler and Reber hope the team returns to the state tournament again. Fidler says she also wants to beat Blake earlier in the season. Reber hopes to get everyone to come together as a team with the seasonal roster shift that will include about eight or nine returning girls.
