Summer Stieglbauer of Edina is the 2016-17 winner of the Youth Thrive Award, receiving $500 from the Southdale YMCA Service Club.

For 27 years, the Southdale YMCA has recognized youth, usually in grades 10 through 12, for their leadership in YMCA community programs, according to Greg Hanks, district executive director. “The youths exhibit the YMCA’s four core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility, as well as ethical leadership qualities,” he says.
The YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities presents these awards to 38 teens across the metro area who have demonstrated these qualities.
“Many of these youth provided leadership and are tremendous role models for other youth in employment roles working with younger children in a YMCA youth sports program, our child care programs or our camp programs,” Hanks says.Summer Stieglbauer of Edina is the 2016-17 winner of the Youth Thrive Award, receiving $500 from the Southdale YMCA Service Club.
