GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn.: Handmade purses from Thailand and paper cut greeting cards from China are among new items that will be on sale at Covenant Living of Golden Valley’s second annual Christmas Craft Fair scheduled for Saturday, November 9. The resident-driven event is open to the public and will have plenty of unique items on sale just in time for some early holiday shopping. Among the many goods will be handcrafted items, wood and needle crafts, baked goods, and the return of “Grandma’s Attic,” which has gently-used household items.

“The residents here are really excited about this event and it has been just amazing to see how many of our residents have been creating, baking and volunteering to make this Craft Fair come to fruition,” said Barbara Johnson, Covenant Living resident and Craft Fair coordinator. “This event happens because we’re all passionate about raising money for our benevolent fund.”

The money raised at the Craft Fair is donated to Covenant Living’s Benevolent Fund which is used to provide support for residents who outlive their resources through no fault of their own. It allows them to stay in their homes at the community.
