Refreshed and Renovated

Local church wraps up a renovation project.

Edina Community Lutheran Church has been undergoing a renovation and expansion since October 2015. “The church had old infrastructure and needed more educational space and a lot of updating was needed,” says Erik Strand, one of two pastors at Edina Community Lutheran Church. Since few parts of the old church will still be intact, this project will significantly change the layout and infrastructure of the church.

There will be a new sanctuary, new and additional Sunday school and meeting rooms, and a new kitchen. The church hopes to also provide better accessibility as well as improved acoustics throughout. Currently, the rooms for administrators and staff are in different areas of the church, but with this renovation they will be co-located. Finally, the church intends to improve its storm-water management to protect the on-site woods and creek. To learn more and to see progress made, visit the website.

Renovations are scheduled to be done this month. Services are at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Sundays with an education hour for all ages from 9:45–10:45 a.m.
