Mindy Rozman-Banko and Carl Anderson have been classmates since the fifth grade at Countryside Elementary in Edina. Since graduating from Edina High School in 1982, they have gone on to successful careers. Now, 34 years later, they are crossing an item off their bucket list by starting an event planning business together. Their combined experience and expertise support their new business and life purpose: “To educate and reinvent life, trends, events and adventures for the 50-plus demographic,” Rozman-Banko says.
They’re calling their venture BoomXers- Two Generations, One Vibe and its focus is on living a diamond life at age 50 and beyond. Putting on events will be a core service, but what they can do reaches far beyond that. “Our key consumers entertain for fun, business, family and events,” says Rozman-Banko. So other services offered by BoomXers, in addition to event planning, include fashion and home styling, consulting, best of the best resource guides, and an “On the Town” broadcast series focused on trends, hotspots and culture.
BoomXers started by hosting a variety of events this past fall. In August, Rozman-Banko and Anderson hosted an Edina 1982 graduates launch party, which was held on the private rooftop at SEVEN. Rozman-Banko says. “We decided to create not just a business, but a movement and brand that will showcase life after 50, what this can be, should be: purpose, exploration, reinvention, love and fun.”
An upcoming promotional event called “Dance Like Nobody’s Watching” will be held on March 4. Visit the website for details or call 612.703.4490.
