Cliff Brunzell Dinner and Tribute

The "Brunzell/Golden Strings" program, written by Cliff Brunzell a month before he passed away, will be performed by four musicians who have played with Cliff over a long period of time. Performers include: Clyde Anderson, string bass player; Brian Sundberg, violinist; Carolyn Boulley, violinist; and Skeets Langley on accordion. Each of the musicians will share a brief personal memory of Cliff.

ACT on Alzheimer's - Edina

Edina will be holding a kickoff event celebration in conjunction with ACT on Alzheimer's to learn more about how our community can work together to improve the lives of people living with Alzheimer's and their caregivers. The kickoff event will be on Tuesday, June 10 at The Waters of Edina.

Operation Kidsafe Child Safety Event

Join Delmonico Dance, local law enforcement, first responders and Operation Kidsafe for a free child safety fair. There will be an ice cream truck for the kids.  Parents will receive a lifetime record of their child's digital fingerprints and a form that is ready to hand to law enforcement in an emergency, as well as valuable safety tips. State Arbor Month Celebration and Minnesota Tree Climbing Championships

This year the DNR is celebrating Arbor Day and Arbor Month by encouraging families to play in natural settings such as your backyard, a nearby woodlot, or forested area.

The 2014 State Arbor Month Celebration will be at Oak Hill Park in St. Louis Park. The event will give families a chance to play with nature, while watching some of the best tree climbers in the state compete at the Minnesota Tree Climbing Championship.

The Last Word Book Group

Stick your nose into a copy of Shelter Half by Carol Bly and then head over to The Last Word Book Group for busy book lovers. These monthly book group meetings alternate between the Southdale Library and Barnes & Noble Galleria, and are facilitated by local authors. This month, join Jack El-Hai, author of The Nazi and the Psychiatrist and The Lobotomist, as he facilitates discussion of Shelter Half at Southdale Library. The book is said to be a masterwork first novel, by a nationally known author, about corporate-sponsored murder in northeastern Minnesota. Public K-9 Demonstration

The U.S. Police Canine Association National Detector Dog Trials are coming to Minnesota. The Edina police department is teaming up with the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport police department to host this event.
