Scout & Molly’s, a boutique franchise that’s grown over the past few years in the United States, has finally come to the Twin Cities area. Linda Writz, owner of the Edina location, wanted to take on a project like this for quite some time. While she currently works in a scientific field, she’s always been a lover of fashion and has wanted to get involved in the industry. A few years back, she decided it was the perfect time to take the plunge and began looking into different business opportunities.
Following the decision to work with Scout & Molly’s Boutique, Writz was able to acquire an ideal location at 50th and France. “When you think about shopping, especially with boutiques, 50th and France is the perfect place to do that,” says Writz. And after being told that she would possibly have to wait years to secure a spot in this coveted shopping hub, a space opened up, so Writz was able to get in sooner.
Scout & Molly’s carries a variety of brands for women of all ages. “I want the merchandise selection to appeal to mothers and daughters. I want them to both be able to come in and be able to find something,” says Writz. Some of the brands that the store carries include BCBG, Tolani, Dolce Vita, 1520, Shilla the Label, Show Me Your Mumu and Tracy Reese. Writz is most excited to showcase Cupcakes and Cashmere. This brand, inspired by the beloved blog, has been selling out like crazy, she says.
