Piccadilly Prairie Comes to Edina

Unique gift and home décor shop relocates to Southdale Center.
Mother’s Day is May 14th. Pop into Picadilly Prairie for great gift ideas.

After about five years in Minneapolis, Lacey Brooker, owner of Piccadilly Prairie, decided to make a change. In November 2016, she moved her shop to Southdale Center in Edina.

“Relocating to the mall was a strategic move for us,” Brooker says. Piccadilly Prairie has a large fan base in Minneapolis; however, Brooker wants to gain exposure to a wider demographic. At the mall, her shop is more visible to shoppers who don’t normally pass through Minneapolis.

Piccadilly Prairie launched in 2011 because of Brooker’s “love of handpicked and vintage items.” The store mainly sells home décor and gifts, including throw pillows, candles, art, furniture and paper products. There is also a focus on local and handmade gifts.

The mission is to provide an authentic experience for shoppers.. Many people go online for gifts, but the experience of an in-person shopping trip is what Piccadilly Prairie promises to provide. While shoppers can also buy items from her shop online, she says, “we really try to provide an experience for our [in-store] customers. “[It is an] inspirational, creative space where people can get unique items.”

With Mother’s Day just around the corner, there are many great gift ideas at Piccadilly Prairie. “We always have great gifts for moms, because Mom’s the best,” Brooker says.

She recommends shoppers check out the handbags and gift enclosures with quotes about motherhood.
