Spooky Bakery Treats for Halloween

The annual Halloween community event at Jerry’s Foods will have a special spooktacular spin this year as the store welcomes the cast of Stages Theatre Company’s  production of Spookley the Square Pumpkin to perform scenes from their popular Halloween show.

According to marketing manager Elizabeth Kriel, kids are invited to trick or treat throughout the store, make a pumpkin craft, and have their faces painted. “We’ll have lots of handouts for the kiddos and we’ll also be featuring everything pumpkin from the bakery,” she says.
Halloween is synonymous with treats, and at Jerry’s Foods, the baking magic will be in full force. “We do all of our baking in house,” says bakery manager Steve Hobbs. During the 30-minute decorating process, cupcakes are transformed into witches, pumpkins, mummies and ghosts. Spooky and delicious.
For those who want to get in on the decorating fun, cookie kits, which cost $8.49 each, include pumpkin cookies, frosting and candies.
The “Spookley the Square Pumpkin Event,” presented in partnership with Stages Theatre, will be held on Sunday, October 22 from 10 a.m.-noon.
“The best part of these [types of] events by far, hands down, is the interaction with the community,” Kriel says, “It’s a great way to give back to the surrounding area.”  This event is free and everyone is welcome.
