Old becomes new. Pieces become a whole. Clothing becomes art.
If you’re looking to give your winter wardrobe a distinctive makeover, look no further. Tila and the Textiles is now available at Piccadilly Prairie in Southdale Center.
“They are all one-of-a-kind creations,” says Piccadilly Prairie purveyor Lacey Brooker. “There’s never two of the same thing.” Designer Amber Frigaard creates the clothes from a combination of new and upcycled fabrics. Tents, sleeping bags, military jackets and couch leather are all given new life in Frigaard’s designs.
“It’s mostly gut,” Brooker says of choosing pieces for the store, “I like to wait for the right thing to come along and I hold out until I find something special.” “Special” is a great word to describe Tila and the Textiles.
Piccadilly Prairie will carry a selection of vests and skirts from the brand. Pair a skirt with your favorite boots or snuggle up inside the large hood of a vest. These pieces will make a unique and functional addition to your winter style.
