EDINA, Minn. – From August 8 through September 30, Pilates ProWorks, the boutique fitness studio concept known for its contemporary twist on traditional Pilates, is collecting diapers of all sizes to help support local mothers in need.

Roughly 1 in 3 American mothers report experiencing diaper need and nearly 5.2 million children in the U.S. aged three or younger live in poor or low-income families and are in need of diaper assistance, according to the National Diaper Bank Network. We're closing West 50th Street between Wooddale Avenue in Edina and Chowen Avenue in Minneapolis for the annual Open Streets on 50th!

The street will be open to bikes and pedestrians to enjoy music, dance, games, crafts, yoga and other creative and active events. Civic, athletic, artistic, creative and neighborhood groups, as well as businesses will participate. Open Streets is dog-friendly, too.

It's time for everyone to come together for a day of celebration and community building!

This event will feature the Teddy Bear Band, treats and activities geared for toddlers through early elementary age! Enjoy a musical retelling of the classic story of Babar the elephant! This concert will feature MacPhail Faculty members Carrie Vecchione (oboe), Rolf Erdahl (bass) and Sarah Miller (piano). We welcome Steve Staruch, host of MPR’s Music with Minnesotans as the narrator. With projected images and evocative musical accompaniment, this is sure to be an exciting trip the great forest!
