In September, local recording artist Cade Bittner will release his first full-length album titled I’ve Gotta Be Me. As you’ve likely read about Bittner in our previous feature story, there are two things he always wanted—a family and a singing career. Now this married Edina father continues to realize his dreams.

The album will feature songs like “My Funny Valentine” and “Autumn Leaves” as well as a duet with vocal powerhouse Shoshana Bean. Bittner says,  “If you put a bit of Elton John meets Frank Sinatra—basically throw a sequined jacket on Frank Sinatra, that will be me, like a crooner, but the ultimate dinner party mix,” he says with a sparkle in his eye. “I’m doing it for my son, Parker, because I want his generation to know some of these really beautiful songs that I think are transcendent.” A love of music isn’t the only thing Bittner is teaching his son. Also, philanthropy. He plans to donate all proceeds from the album to the Minnesota chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
