Edina Grad Cast In Broadway "Jersey Boys" Touring Production

Edina native Kit Treece is cast in the hit musical about the Four Seasons.

From school plays at Normandale Elementary in Edina to the big stage, actor Kit Treece has come a long way. “Edina community arts is definitely where I started to fall in love with the theater,” Treece says. This love has landed Treece a roll with the Broadway touring production of Jersey Boys.

Before Treece moved to New York to pursue his dreams of performing, the young actor commanded the stage at Edina High School.
“I knew that he was destined to do theater,” says Edina High School teacher and artistic director Tony Matthes. “He was in every single play that we did.” Matthes recalls the moment he knew Treece was meant to pursue acting. “He did a monologue of a boy who accidentally knocked over a vase and had to apologize to his mother,” Matthes explains. “You could just see that he jumped right into it.”

When Treece found out that he’d landed a spot in a Broadway production, one of his first calls was to Matthes.

Treece does a lot of traveling in pursuit of his dream career, but says he always enjoys coming home. When Jersey Boys comes to Minneapolis in April, Treece will be in his element. During his senior year of high school, Treece would buy tickets to every touring Broadway musical playing at the Orpheum. “I’m so extra, extra thrilled to be playing the Orpheum in Minneapolis,” Treece says of one of those special moments when life comes full circle.
